| The Grand Prize: The School of Music, Korean National University of Arts |
|
The School of Music to the Korean National University of Arts is Korea's first professional music education organization that has adapted the benefits of a traditional conservatory to Korea's ed-onment. Since its establishment, a large number of its students have shown stellar performances in reputed music competitions at home and abroad, although they have not studied abroad at all. Thus, the jury was highly impressed by its contribution to the development of classical music and enhancement of national prestige (Kangsook Lee, the chief of the jury, withdrew from screening candidates for this prize, citing his relationship with this candidate).
