Daewon Cultural Foundation Won the Grand Prize of 15th Korea Mecenat Awards
We are pleased to announce that the Daewon Cultural Foundation (Il-Gon Kim, Chairman) won the 15th Grand prize of Korea Mecenat Awards for its intensive efforts to support classical music and music artists. The Korea Mecenat Awards are presented by Korea Mecenat Association for recognizing a company or a person who has devoted to supporting cultural arts in Korea.
The Daewon Cultural Foundation was established in 2004 under the mission of ‘upon the pure passion for music, we work for the value of Mecenat.’ The foundation established ‘Daewon Music Awards’ in 2006 and has been awarding the prize to classical music artists and/or organizations that make great accomplishments both domestically and internationally.
The great music artists and organizations such as Kyung-Wha Chung, Myung-Whun Chung, Sumi Jo, Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra, Pyeong Chang Music Festival, Dong-Suk Kang, and Kun-Woo Paik have been awarded the Grand Prize of the Awards.
The foundation is also providing and supporting such educational programs as 'music camp for young conductors', and 'music and culture program for entrepreneurs.' As one of most valuable CEO education program, the ‘Music and Culture’ offers many Korean entreprenuers with the chance to experience world of classical music and to meet the music artists so that leading them to support classical music and musicians.
The Daewon cultural foundation has supported the young talented musicians with the program of ‘Daewon Artist’, as well as quality classical concerts and festivals such as Pyeong Chang Music Festival and Seoul Spring Chamber Festival.
Il-Gon Kim, the chairman of the foundation, delivered remarks as follows. “The mecenat award is a valued encourage for the future of Daewon Cultural Foundation, and I want to share this pleasure especially with many entrepreneurs who understand and pursuit the value of art.”
